With financial considerations restricting purchases of new recovery vehicles at present, many operators are turning to vehicle refurbishment and rebuild, as a means of keeping trucks looking good and working well on a budget.

To avoid the complexities of having to deal with several workshops to get this type of work done, commercial vehicle bodybuilder Thomas Small & Sons, is now offering a one-stop-shop for full rebuilds and refurbishments on all types of recovery vehicle.

The company are experts in recovery vehicle building and repair and have the facilities and experience to take all types of trucks, strip them down, repair, rebuild, repaint and return to the customer in as new condition.

Vincent Small says, “We offer a total service from assessing the tuck and agreeing the work with the owner right through to top quality paintwork.” Vincent explains that trucks are stripped down and sandblasted at their Galway workshops and given a full structural assessment. The company has the capability to carry out complex structural repairs where required and are also experts in hydraulics and electrics. When repairs are complete, the truck is rebuilt and fully tested and the company can also handle all the necessary vehicle certification.

The rebuilt truck is then transformed into its as new condition in the paintshop. Vincent says, “Having a well presented truck is a must for most recovery operators, so we take great care to ensure a paint finish of the highest quality.” He adds, “When the service is complete, customers find they have a recovery truck that looks and operates as though it is brand new, but have only paid a small percentage of the new truck cost.”

The refurbishment and rebuild service is available to customers throughout Ireland and packages can be tailored according to budgets available.

Recovery operators interested in having there truck assessed can contact Vincent at Thomas Small & Sons on 091-791-154
