If a double clutch system reaches the end of its serviceable lifetime, Schaeffler engineers recommend replacing it with a matching dual mass flywheel (DMF) at the same time, to maximise efficiency and minimise the risk of follow-on repairs.

The 2CT clutch pack and DMF are both toothed flange components that are precision matched to work perfectly together, so changing just one could lead to mismatched wear and performance issues, as well as risking premature failure.
