The home office on wheels

Tuesday, January 05, 2021

For many businesses involved in sectors such as tourism and hospitality, the Coronavirus crisis has meant they have had to reinvent themselves and embrace new opportunities. For example, on the face of it you might expect a company producing camper vans to struggle as holidays are put on hold. But one resourceful UK campervan producer is bucking the trend.

Revolution Campervans, is based in Cambridgeshire and produces campers on new or used VW Transporters. It says it has seen a trend in 2020 of customers buying its vehicles to use as a home office which can then double as a base for more local holidays and weekends away, while other have used them as mobile offices and shops.

The campers come fully equipped with USB points, easy mains hook-ups, a fridge and cooker and the company says can provide all the benefits of a garden office with the added flexibility of mobile adventures.

Jonathan Norman, Managing Director of Revolution Campervans comments, “This year, we’ve noticed a definite trend of people buying campervans to use for work as well as pleasure. With so much of the population now working from home, and using their cars less, a campervan suddenly makes even more sense as an extra space to use to work in. The pandemic has also made people look at how they go on holiday in a new light.”
