Ring offers new digital destination for Xenon HID refits

A new site providing information on Xenon HID bulbs, including debunking common HID myths, is proving very popular with garages looking to boost lighting revenue over the winter months.  www.ringautomotive.com/en/refit-hids has been launched by vehicle lighting specialists Ring to give technicians and HID stockists all the resources and information they need for replacing xenon HIDs.

The new site gives clear information about Xenon HID bulbs, which are now fitted to around 1 in 10 cars. It covers how HID headlight systems work, how often HID bulbs should be replaced and includes fitting guides and videos.

Henry Bisson, Marketing Manager at Ring, says, “These bulbs are widely fitted, but a lot of technicians are still unsure about the technology. This means many garages are missing out on profit opportunity. There is far greater revenue from xenon HID replacement than standard bulbs and added to this they need to be replaced in pairs.”

Henry also points out that with the Ring range and website information garages do not need to send customers elsewhere and should not miss out on this golden opportunity. He also says that xenon HIDs need to be replaced more frequently than is widely known with the light emitted by HIDs decreasing slowly over time. This can mean that bulbs may not be meeting the legal limits for light output. Ring recommends changing xenon HIDs every three years to ensure the light output is safe and legal.
