Nissan is moving car buying into the future with the roll out of a new showroom design and retail experience that is focused on meeting the needs of modern car buyers.

The Windsor Motor Group, which is Ireland’s largest motor group, has led the way in introducing the new showroom design at its Nissan dealerships in Belgard, Airside, Liffey Valley and Deansgrange. Customers can also enjoy the new retail experience at the recently developed purpose built Nissan Retail Experience showroom in Downey’s Nissan in Portlaoise.

Twelve Nissan dealers are scheduled to introduce the new showrooms during 2016 and the full network of 39 Nissan dealers are expected to have adopted the new design and retail experience by 2018.

The new showrooms reflect the reality that today’s car buying experience starts online and that customers are seeking a no-nonsense approach when they visit the showrooms of their local Nissan dealer to view and buy a car from Nissan’s award winning product range.

Nissan dealers are looking to the future and innovating with a move to a paperless, desk free environment where mobile technology is at the heart of informing and empowering customers to personalise and finance the car of their choice.

The traditional office desks and PCs have all been removed so that sales and after sales conversations can take place on the showroom floor in a friendlier and less intimidating environment for customers.

Traditional paper point-of-sale brochures have been replaced by POS screens on high tables in order to provide a relaxed environment where sales and service advisors have been equipped with iPads and mobile technology to engage and interact with customers.

The heart of every new showroom is a comfortable customer lounge where customers can relax with free Wi-Fi and complementary refreshments while they learn about the Nissan brand on big screens. iPads have also been installed for kids to play games.

An Accessory Wall also features a presentation screen where customers can explore the full Nissan range and consider an array of personalisation options.  A bank of three 65” big screens, which can also be viewed from the exterior, animates the showroom with engaging brand content.

Nissan has also focused on enhancing the customer retail experience by introducing a new Car Handover Area within the showroom. It will be utilised to guide new car buyers through the innovative technology and safety features in Nissan cars and to develop an ongoing service relationship.

“Nissan is an innovative brand and we are delighted to apply that hallmark to our showrooms. We are evolving with the times and responding to the demands of modern car buyers who are seeking a welcome, spacious and relaxed environment when they visit our showrooms,” said James McCarthy, CEO of Nissan Ireland.

“The day of sitting a customer down at a desk and PC are gone. Customers are already well informed by the time they visit at a showroom. We are providing a welcome, digitally led, seamless, interactive retail experience where customers can view and learn about our award winning range of cars and complete the process of buying a car with first class sales and after sales service,” he added.
