Hyundai Ireland has gate-crashed the top three selling a record number of cars for the month of January.

Figures provided this week by Hyundai Ireland show that their market share has risen to 10.12%, up from 7.85% market share achieved for 2013, moving Hyundai up to third place in the Irish car market. This is the first time in 10 years that a new brand has cracked the top three in the Irish car market.

Over the last 5 years Hyundai Ireland has increased its market share from 2.99% in 2009 to 10.12% in January of this year making it Ireland’s fastest growing car brand.

Speaking to Autobiz this week, Stephen Gleeson, Managing Director, Hyundai Ireland said: “We are delighted with our performance to date in 2014, confirming us as Ireland’s fastest growing car brand. We expect that we can continue our successful start in February with the first substantial deliveries of Santa Fe and greater availability of the new i10.”

Sarah Hayes, Marketing Manager, Hyundai Ireland added: “We are witnessing tremendous growth in Hyundai brand awareness and also an increasing consumer recognition of the Hyundai product design and the superb Hyundai warranty package that comes with all our models.”
