Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles have been chosen once again as the official vehicle sponsor of the National Ploughing Championships.

The 82nd National Ploughing Championships which run from the 24th to the 26th of September will take place at Ratheniska, Co. Laois. As Irelands largest Outdoor Exhibition and Agricultural Trade Show, the National Ploughing Championships attracts on average 1,100 exhibitors and 189,000 visitors.

The official motoring sponsor for the third year running, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, will provide a fleet of its hugely popular 4x4 pick-up, the Amarok, and its number 1 selling Caddy Van equipped with 4 Motion - Volkswagens legendary 4 wheel drive system, which will support the Championships off-road transportation needs.

A total of 13 vehicles will be supplied to the National Ploughing Association organisers during the week-long event and will provide an essential support for key personnel across the 700 acres site.

Managing Director of the National Ploughing Association, Anna May McHugh, said: “We are delighted to once again to partner with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles at this year’s event. The Amarok proved last year that it is a perfect fit for our event and will once again be a huge benefit to the exhibition team during the site build and throughout the event. In addition to the Amarok this year we have been supplied with a number of Caddy 4 Motions which will give us additional event support. ”

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will also have a stand at the show featuring a range of vehicles including the Amarok, Transporter, Caddy, Caddy Life, Crafter and California Camper Van. Volkswagen trained Commercial Vehicle Specialists will also be on hand to discuss and assist in any questions visitors may have.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Brand Director, Alan Bateson, added: “We are delighted to be returning once again with a sponsorship deal at this year’s National Ploughing Championships. The event proved to be very successful for us over the last number of years and gave us a great opportunity to showcase our vehicle range in its natural habitat."
