Laser Tools has introduced a useful new signal testing device for key fobs and remote-controls. 


The new tester (part number 8653) has been designed to allow the user to test the signal output from automotive key fobs and infra-red controllers. The tester incorporates an LCD screen so the signal can be displayed in hertz. The process helps to diagnose faults quickly and easily without dismantling.

The tester is very easy to use. It is simply switched on and key fob or remote control is held against the signal panel. Press the fob button and the signal frequency is displayed on the tester’s screen. Applications include automotive key fobs, garage door remote controls, TV and air conditioner remotes, etc. The frequency range is 10 to 1000 Mhz (confirmed by the LCD screen), plus IR signal detector. The unit is powered by a 9V (PP3) battery (not included).
