Nissan has announced that it plans to recall about 841,000 vehicles worldwide due to a fault in the steering system.


According t the car maker the bolt used to tighten the steering wheel is not screwed on properly, but that there was no danger of sudden failure.

Approximately 14,000 cars in Ireland are included n the recall, Nissan’s Micra model manufactured at their Sunderland plant in the U.K. between 2002 and 2006 will be recalled. The carmaker said that it will fix the issue by tightening the bolts or replacing steering wheels entirely.

So far, no accidents involving the cars have been reported, Nissan said. But drivers may notice if the steering wheel is getting loose, the company added.
