Spirit Motor Group’s Twilight Team 5K Challenge Road Run on a route for the first time ever in Sandyford Business District takes place on the 1st October at 7.30pm.

The run is hosted by the local Dundrum South Dublin Athletic Club and sponsored by Spirit Motor Group. This is the first charity 5K run to be held in the Sandyford Business District. Although the run will be of particular interest to the 25,000 employed or resident in the District, entries are welcome from all across Dublin and beyond.

Spirit Motor Group is delighted to sponsor this event, which will bring together the people working in the Sandyford Business District for what promises to be a fun challenge. Gerard O’Farrell, Managing Director of the Spirit Motor Group says: “We hope the Spirit Motor Group Twilight Team Challenge will become an annual event in the area. It is a great opportunity to boost the sense of community and create a friendly challenge and camaraderie between employees of local businesses.  We are supporting the Ross Nugent Foundation for this event although entrants can also fundraise for their own chosen charity. We hope that people take up the team challenge and we can expect a bit of friendly rivalry between the local businesses!”

Both teams of four people and individuals can enter. Registration is online at www.twilightteamchallenge.com.   All team entries received by September 17th will qualify for a free draw for a luxury hamper. Race headquarters is the Spirit Motor Group Showroom on Arena Road in Sandyford Business District. Each entrant will be given an electronic chip device to track their progress. All team runners will start together and the team score will be determined by the total time of the team’s four runners, so remember it’s a group effort! Each finisher will be rewarded with a beautiful, one-of-a-kind race medal, as well as prizes for the best time for a group and individual.

The route is predominantly flat and will loop the Blackthorn Avenue, Road and Drive routes. The nominated charity is the Ross Nugent Foundation but
entrants can fundraise for a charity of their choice. The entry fee is €20 per person.

The Spirit Motor Group Twilight Team Challenge is a wonderful opportunity to build camaraderie with your work colleagues and also to challenge yourself over the 5k distance. Whether you choose to walk, jog or run, there’s something for everyone to enjoy with a dash of friendly competition!
