Tool and equipment specialist Sealey has launched a new Hybrid & Electric Servicing promotion and is encouraging garages and bodyshops to ensure they have the right equipment and knowhow to tackle the growing need for hybrid and electric vehicle servicing and repairs.

Sealey says it is very important for the technician working on the vehicle to create a safe and secure environment where they will not be disturbed by people coming into the vicinity. A sign warning of high voltage and a chained-off area to work on the vehicle will notify others of the potential danger and ensure they do not enter the working area. For this purpose the SDealey ranges features Eclusion Zone Kits which can provide the required signage, posts and chains.

The promotion also features VDE tools that have certification to show they are safe for working on electric systems. Most technicians will rarely be working on a live high voltage circuit but it is good working practice to use these tools all of the time as they can prevent electric shock or electrocution in the case of human error when isolating the high voltage battery, or if there is a fault within the high voltage supply system itself.
