RSA Insurance Group has appointed Ken Norgrove as its new chief executive officer in Ireland. Norgrove has previous experience with the company having worked in various position s from 1986 to 2010. More recently he has held the position of CEO of Zurich General Insurance Ireland.

The appointment, which takes effect on June 1st follows the resignation of Philip Smith in November, following an investigation into accounting practices at the company.

RSA sacked several senior managers while other resigned in January after an investigation which found inappropriate collaboration among managers and inaccurate financial reporting.
