There is no doubt that accurate colour matching is one of the keys to success in any bodyshop business. Paint companies allocate huge budgets to ensure they have the correct colour matching formulations and bodyshops themselves make big investments in materials and equipment to achieve the perfect colour match. However, all this can be to no avail if a paint sprayer has his gun set to the wrong inlet pressure. If the pressure is too high or too low a colour deviation is likely and this can often mean an expensive rework.
Spray gun specialists SATA are aiming to eliminate the problem of incorrect inlet pressure by offering SATA spray guns with digital pressure gauges integrated in the gun handle. There is also now a new retrofit option for non SATA gun users in the form of the SATA adam 2. Both of these solutions are compact, lightweight and precise, enabling the painter to keep inlet pressure accurate and under control at all times.
The new retrofit option SATA adam 2 U (Universal), consists of a SATA adam 2 U dock and the SATA adam 2 display. This gives the painter the option to adjust and monitor the inlet pressure in digital form on any type of gun. The display indicates the inlet pressure with an accuracy of +/- 0.05 bar, while the adjustment screw on the SATA adam 2 U dock allows the pressure to be set precisely. Combined with the SATA adam 2 display, the adam dock can also replace any analogue pressure gauge with G 1/8 male thread, for example on pneumatically operated systems or when upgrading an existing SATA air micrometer with analogue pressure gauge to digital. The SATA adam 2 display can be used on all spray guns, either installed on the back or on the bottom of the gun.
SATA is has also introduced a further air innovation aimed at increasing paint shop quality and productivity. All SATA air hoses with 9 mm inner diameter are now supplied with a new design quick release coupling. SATA say that in market tests painters have been very impressed with the rapid connection and disconnection of the air supply. As a result of the new design, the air flow is also increased and pressure drop is significantly reduced. This ensures that the spray gun is constantly supplied with the required air volume and inlet pressure.
The new High-Flow-couplings can be easily recognised by the red sleeves made of high strength and solvent-resistant plastic material.
