With just seven rounds to go in the Formula 1 championship, just two points separate current champion Lewis Hamilton and title chaser Max Verstappen.

Hamilton who has been with the Mercedes team for nine years set a new record when winning the Russian Grand Prix reaching 100 grand prix wins, more than anyone else in the history of the sport.

Hamilton finished first in Russia following a late spin off the track by fellow Brit, Lando Norris who was leading at the time with  five laps to go. Norris remained on slicks tyres when the rain came and paid the price by failing to win his first grand prix. Verstappen came home in a very creditable second place having started at the back of the grid following of an engine penalty.

Hamilton currently heads rival Max Verstappen by two points in the drivers’ standings, with Mercedes 33 point clear in the constructors’ championship over Red Bull.

Next up is the rescheduled Turkey Grand Prix on the weekend of October 8-10
