Good advice key to customer choice

Cost is not the only key factor that dictates a motorist’s choice of garage, with professional trustworthy advice also critical according to research carried out by Castrol Professional.

In a consumer poll 1 in 10 said that the customer service was the number one thing they look for when choosing a workshop. The study also found that, when it comes to choosing the oil they want putting in their car, a majority of drivers are happy to pay extra for good-quality products, while most opt for brand names they recognise and know they can trust.

Commenting on the findings, Jo Clayton, Castrol Franchised Workshop Marketing Manager for Ireland and the UK  said, "While price remains the single most important factor for drivers when they take their car to the workshop for an oil change, they are prepared to listen to those that know best  emphasising the value to a workshop offering good trustworthy advice.”
