One of the interesting aspects of the Brembo Braking stand at Automechanika Birmingham was the fact that many visitors were not just causal browsers, but genuine Brembo fans. Brembo is held in high esteem by many motoring enthusiasts, including many dedicated garage owners and technicians. These visitors were on the Brembo stand each day in large numbers, keen to see the latest developments in the premium braking range.

The XTRA portfolio of performance pads and discs was a particular point of discussion. Brembo Xtra pads were launched last year and have been very well received in the marketplace. They offer the enthusiast driver the opportunity to enjoying a sporty drive without compromising on comfort and durability during road use. The pads utilise a carefully researched friction material called BRM X L01 which is made from more than 30 different components. It means the pads offer outstanding performance and braking stability and perfectly complement Brembo XTRA and MAX sports discs. This combination also means reduced disc wear and fading and improved pedal feel.

The new pads come in distinctive new packaging and with a laser engraved logo. All the Brembo XTRA range part numbers are homologated for road use, according to the ECE R-90 standard. The pads are also the original equipment choice of many leading car manufacturers, including Alfa Romeo, Mercedes, BMW and Volkswagen. They are particularly favoured on premium and sports models by car makers and are also increasing used as OE on SUVs.
