Soltec offers Brexit beating solvent service

With the possibility of a no-deal Brexit still very real, Soltec is urging Irish companies that use solvents, to ensure that they have arrangements in place for continued supply of product, should the worst happen. As Ireland’s only paint thinners manufacturing operation, Soltec says it is one of few companies in the Irish refinish sector that can guarantee both continuous supply and stable pricing.

Soltec stresses that the outcome of a no-deal scenario will come as a shock to many Irish automotive sector businesses. It would immediately mean that any thinners products that are UK sourced would be immediately subject to taxes and tariffs that would raise the price by up to 40%.  Continued supply of thinners would also not be guaranteed and if available, delivery lead times would become very unpredictable.

Soltec says it can combat these potential issues with its Irish manufactured product guaranteeing both supply and price stability. As part of its Brexit planning the company has also removed reliance on UK sourced raw materials and packaging meaning that it will now always be in a position to offer quality product and good service regardless of the Brexit outcome.

Soltec has also made similar made similar preparations for its hazardous waste disposal and recycling services for bodyshop and garages, securing deals with specialist waste processing operations outside of the UK.
