Original Equipment Parts Campaign launched

A number of leading original equipment suppliers have joined forces to stress the importance of fitting parts that genuinely match the quality and performance of the original components. The thrust of the campaign is that when it comes to fitting parts, it pays to fit those that can be fully trusted, so components from OE suppliers should always be insisted upon.

The companies behind the campaign include NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket (UK) Ltd, KYB UK, MANN-FILTER, Remy, Sogefi, Sachs, ZF Services UK Ltd and Banner Batteries. The group has produced marketing material which compares the question of parts quality to the recent consumer controversy over the discovery of horse meat in burgers and other food products.

The new campaign received a positive feedback from independent garages and motor factors at the recent MechanEx Show at Event City in Manchester, where OE parts were exhibited alongside non-genuine alternative products currently available in the automotive aftermarket. Leaflets were also distributed explaining the reasons behind the campaign under the banner ,
