IAAF conference to tackle key aftermarket issues
Share:

The IAAF Annual Conference takes place on December 4th at ICC in Birmingham and this year will focus on major issues affecting the automotive aftermarket including eCall, parts type approval and internet sales.

Bookings and sponsorship for the conference are ahead of previous years and a speaker line-up of experts both from in and outside the automotive aftermarket will be announced very shortly.

The conference theme is ‘Change, Challenge, Opportunity – gearing up for the future’ and one of the key issues discussed will be eCall. As of 2015, the European Commission and the European Parliament plan the mandatory introduction of this emergency alert service. A spin-off of the technology used is that the system will enable vehicle manufacturers to get real-time information about a vehicle’s health status. The IAAF is leading the UK aftermarket’s fight on eCall and vehicle telematics calling for fair and uniform access to information to ensure the aftermarket is not discriminated against.

The IAAF conference is targeted at garages, motor factors, parts manufacturers and suppliers, buying groups, associations and trade press. For more information visit www.iaaf.co.uk
