Range expansion and enhanced services were the theme of the ContiTech Power Transmission Group stand at Automechanika. The company premiered its new accessory drive kits complete with V-ribbed belts and spanners, while also placing a big emphasis on its ContiTech timing belt kits with water pump range.

Visitors to the stand also had the opportunity to test a new smartphone app, which provides comprehensive product information and technical data. The app integrates with the Product Information Center (PIC), ContiTech's online service, which is now available in 16 languages.

ContiTech says the focus on timing belt kits with water pumps is because it is now widely accepted that only when both components are of high quality and completely intact, can perfect engine operation be ensured. ContiTech's complete package with a timing belt, tensioner and deflection roller, accessory parts and water pump makes it easier for vehicle professionals to replace all belt drive components at the same time. This provides a safe and durable repair meaning less chance of breakdown and more long term customer satisfaction.

Also new to the aftermarket range are auxiliary drive kits. These contain a V-ribbed belt and OE quality tensioner and there is a range of 100 complete packages to cover a large majority of the most common applications. ContiTech recommends changing the tensioner when changing the V-ribbed belt as the tensioner is also a wear part. It says changing both components at the same time ensures greater safety for the engine and the convenience of the new kits offers many advantages to customers.
