Fin Tech company Bumper has partnered with ŠKODA Ireland dealers to rollout interest-free digital payments for aftersales customers across its dealer network.

The service provides ŠKODA owners with access to Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payments, over one to four months, for servicing, repairs and accessories. Customers also have the option of using Bumper’s digital Pay Now facility.

The announcement follows the publishing of a report by Research and Market1 forecasting a 67.7% growth in BNPL payments in Ireland in to reach €776.6m in 2022. The research shows how BNPL has recorded strong growth over the last four quarters, supported by ecommerce penetration.

“We’re delighted to be working with the ŠKODA dealer network to provide their aftersales customers with transparent interest-free BNPL and Pay Now payment options,” said Jack Allman, Bumper’s CCO and co-founder. He added, “With BNPL experiencing exponential growth in Ireland, dealers using the platform will have an opportunity to achieve anuplift in average invoice values, which we estimate at €34 per invoice, as well as retaining and attracting older vehicles.”

Keith Colton, Aftersales Marketing Manager of ŠKODA Ireland, commented, “We expect our retailers will be in a position to sell a greater proportion of aftersales work by partnering with Bumper. It will allow them to offer their customers a more flexible way to manage their payments through interest-free BNPL or Pay Now, whichever best suits their personal preferences.”

Recent months have seen Bumper, one of the fastest growing companies in the 2022 FT1000, expand its executive team as it prepares the next stage of growth which will include bringing its offering to more dealerships and workshops in Ireland and across Europe.
