Autodata has provided a fix for a common vibration issue on a 2015 Jeep Cherokee in it's Autodocta proven fixes series.

A garage reported that it had a 2015 Jeep Cherokee in its workshop and the customer was complaining of a vibration through the vehicle when accelerating at 10-20 mph. Technicians experienced the vibration on a road test but struggled o find the cause.

Similar issues have been reported to Autodata. It affects Jeep Cherokee models with four wheel drive and 9-speed automatic transmission (AT) produced up to 12/09/16. The cause of the vibration is due to unsatisfactory design of the front driveshafts. Autodata recommends inspection of the front driveshafts. If a type 1 driveshaft is fitted, it should be replaced with modified version type 2, as illustrated. The technician should then carry out road test to ensure vibration has been eliminated.
