The Board of Gowan Distributors Limited, Peugeot Importers in Ireland, is pleased to announce the appointment of Des Cannon as Managing Director, effective from 19th August 2013.

Des joined Gowan Distributors in 2008 as Commercial Manager and brings a wealth of expertise and experience in all aspects of the motor industry to his new role: prior to joining Gowan Distributors, Des had a well-established career in the motor industry working with Hyundai Cars Ireland, as well as spending some time working in Motor Retail.

Commenting on the appointment, Gowan Group Managing Director, Michael Dwan stated, “Des has played a key role in striving to grow Peugeot’s market share in a difficult economic climate. Assisted by the enthusiasm and professionalism of the Gowan Distributors team and the Peugeot Dealer Network, I am confident that Des, in his new position, will take the Peugeot franchise in Ireland to even greater heights in the years ahead.”

Des has been married to Olivia for 10 years and has two sons. His motto in life is, “I am a firm believer that you make your own luck in life and the harder you work, the luckier you get!”

Des Cannon will replace George Harbourne as Managing Director, when George retires this August.
