At first glance, this seems to be a quick and simple cleaning method. However, when working with adapters, the spray gun is not sufficiently cleaned which may lead to contamination of the next application.

Cleaning the gun manually with brushes and immersion in gun cleaners using recycled thinners bears the risk that contaminated cleaning agent may penetrate sensitive parts of the spray gun, like the air distribution ring or air passages, resulting in paint flaws.

The SATA RCS (Rapid Clean System) is a compact, pneumatically operated cleaning system made of stainless steel which can be mounted at a convenient working height inside or outside the spraybooth.

In combination with the use of disposable cups, the painter can clean the material passage of the spray gun quickly, effectively, with reduced solution and without leaving any paint residues behind. The spray gun has to simply be held into the cleaning compartment of the device. With the spray gun connected to the air line and automatically reduced spray pressure, material passages and air cap of the spray gun are cleaned. In essence, these are all parts of the spray gun which usually come in contact with paint. This allows a perfect colour change in less than 30 seconds. As the device relies on the injection principle and works without a pump, it requires virtually no maintenance. It also only uses fresh cleaning fluid so the risk of cross contamination is eliminated.
