Welding specialist GYS have a long and successful relationship with the Ford Motor Company and its latest GYSPOT Evolution PTI-s7 machine has been approved for spot welding.

The certification follows on from the creation of the 2015 Ford specifications and extensive

testing by the Ford Motor Company in Germany.

The GYSPOT Pti Evolution is a 14,500A transformer gun Spot Welder has a lightweight arm and a fully automatic control system. Key requirements demanded by Ford were extensive. These included the need to meet technical welding specifications and that of user convenience now requiring spot welding parameters; time, current and pressure being automatically set by the machine. Also subject to the new Ford specification was the manufacturer’s capability to provide effective aftersales support and technical help to the end-user.

This latest Ford certification supersedes the previous 2008 specification which was held by an earlier generation GYS machine.

Bruno Bouygues, GYS CEO said “We are delighted to win the Ford certification, it follows a long working relationship between Ford and GYS.  As a major manufacturer we are constantly investing in inverter welding technology to ensure our products offer the best quality and functionality thus meeting the needs of global car manufacturers”

The Ford certification follows recent approvals for GYS equipment from Volkswagen and General Motors.

GYS is French family owned industrial group which manufactures three product families; industrial welding machines, battery maintenance equipment as well as Car Body welding equipment for which GYS is now the largest manufacturer in Europe.

GYS is welding equipment is serviced and distributed in Ireland by Shop Bodyshop Direct.
