Battery specialist Yuasa is gearing up for a new season of racing in the British Touring Car Championship and is hoping to make it a third successive year of success with its new look Halfords Yuasa Racing 2017 Honda Civic Type R.

Drivers Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal took to the Donington Park circuit for preseason testing recently. Gordon hopes to make it three in a row after taking the BTCC title in 2015 and 2016.  Meanwhile, long-term team mate Matt Neal has other ideas as he hunts for his fourth BTCC title having last held the crown six years ago.

Yuasa has a long and proud heritage in motorsport, and has been a title sponsor of the Honda works BTCC team since 2011. During this time the battery manufacturer has enjoyed unprecedented success, winning four drivers championships and six manufacturer’s titles.

Alongside their partnership in Halfords Yuasa Racing, Yuasa are also a major sponsor of the Repsol Honda Team, and triple world champion Marc Marquez in MotoGP.

The BTCC season opener takes place at Brands Hatch on April 2nd. The 33-round series then travels across the UK over 11 weekends taking in legendary circuits including Silverstone and Donington Park before returning to Brands Hatch for the season finale in October.
