Racing driver Nicolas Hamilton, who competes in the 2019 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), will be appearing on ignition specialist NGK’s stand at the forthcoming Automechanika Show at Birmingham.  Hamilton, the brother of five-time world F1 champion Lewis, will be on stand N170 at the NEC from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday, June 5.

The 27-year-old, who has cerebral palsy, is being sponsored by NGK in the BTCC championship, racing a specially modified Ford Focus RS for the ROKiT Racing with Motorbase team.

Mark Hallam, Marketing Manager, NGK Spark Plugs said, “We are delighted to announce that Nicolas will be making a personal appearance on our stand at Automechanika. I’m sure that all our customers who visit the show and who follow the BTCC will be thrilled to meet him in person and show their support of him in the championship.”

Visitors to the NGK stand during the show will also have the chance to compete on a virtual reality racing simulator with the person recording the fastest lap time over the three days winning the BoxClever Cup and a fantastic voice-controlled electronic Amazon Echo Plus. In addition, the first 200 garage visitors to the stand each day will receive a free LED Pocketstar torch.

NGK recently introduced a new range of premium NTK camshaft and crankshaft sensors which will be on display. The new sensors, comprising more than 200 part numbers with excellent vehicle parc coverage, will be featured on the stand alongside the company’s full product range which includes new NTK ‘5-wire’ Lambda sensors, Mass Air Flow (MAF) and Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensors and original equipment (OE) spark plugs and glow plugs, plus ignition coils.

Mark Hallam added, “Our staff will be on hand throughout the show to talk to workshops about the full range of our ignition components which they fit daily in their workshops. Plus, there will also be the chance for visitors to receive some fantastic gifts, making it a must-visit event.”
