Developing technology and increased service intervals now often need to up-skill and learning new repair techniques in order to keep as many repairs as possible in-house.

Schaeffler is supporting garages in their quest to retain more business by offering innovative new repair solutions for the independent aftermarket. Recent Schaeffler product additions have included gearbox and differential repair kits, containing all the components required to complete a professional gearbox or differential overhaul. 21 kits are now available with most popular applications covered, allowing a garage to complete work they may otherwise refer to a specialist or fit a reconditioned unit.

The LuK BMW differential repair kit is a good example. The difference between the price of this kit and a reconditioned diff can be more than €400 leaving good scope for profitable labour hours. The garage also retains business in-house meaning a greater possibility of the customer coming back and can offer the customer a more economical solution than may otherwise be the case.

The BMW Differential Repair Solution (HAG188L) is Part Number 462 0148 10 and is suitable for the BMW 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 Series as well as the X1 and X5.

Schaeffler’s Luk brand offers a range of complete kits to facilitate repairs and supports this with installation instructions and videos available on Schaeffler’s REPXPERT portal.
