Power transmission specialist Continental has added a new timing belt for Peugeot – Citroen 1.2 models to its extensive range.

The new belt (Part No.: CT1228) is a replacement for the CT1188 in every application, for use in Peugeot and Citroen 1.2-litre engines built from the end of 2013 onwards.

The exact engine types can be recognised by the code EB2-x. The belt offers excellent operational properties particularly with aging engines because of significantly improved specifications. This primarily relates to its resistance to impurities or contamination in the oil and/or engine, which is especially important for belts in oil. In particular, the belt’s material properties make it exceptionally well prepared to cope with the risk of crystallization of carbon compounds.

Continental stress that it is vital that fitters comply with the manufacturer’s oil specifications.
