The third position activates the starter motor, when the key is released, and starts the engine - before returning to ignition position two.

If the engine continues running even when the key is switched out of the starting position, technicians should check for the following fault codes: B11A511, B12E512, B12E612. These are short circuit faults and can be conformed using a suitable diagnostic tool.
