Advanced brake fluid technology from Bosch

Brake fluid plays a critical role in the safe and effective operation of braking systems, but as vehicle technology moves ahead at pace there is also a need for increasingly sophisticated fluid solutions to meet the needs of the latest vehicles. Parts and automotive systems specialist Bosch has recognised this and created a range of brake fluids to suit all the latest applications.

ISO-4925 standard, 7 category is a global benchmark that ensure brake fluids have higher wet and dry boiling points at a low viscosity. This provides more safety for motorists as well as a greater responsiveness and protection for ABS and ESP systems. As a pioneer in fluid technology, Bosch met this new standard four years before it became official with its ENV6 fluid which meets and surpasses this standard with a viscosity of ≤700mm²/s and a boiling point of ~ 270°.

The ENV range of Bosch brake fluids is increasingly being used as original equipment by vehicle manufacturers. The list of manufacturers can be found on the ENV packaging and includes: Volkswagen Group, General Motors, BMW, Stellantis and Ford. More recent approvals include Daimler and Volvo.

The fluid comes in various convenient pack sizes which allow workshops to offer OE equivalent high performance fluids for their aftermarket customers. ENV6 also offers 50% extended maintenance intervals for drivers with 2 years/40,000km for DOT compared to 3 years/60,000km for ENV6.

The shelf life of ENV6 is also twice that of Bosch Blue Brake Fluids at 60 months from the production date shown on the packaging. This allows fluid to be ordered in bulk. ENV6 is also a single fluid that covers 100% of synthetic brake fluid needs to cover most cars in a workshop.

Bosch ENV6 brake fluid is available from stockists. For more information please click here.
