IPD Germany, the company behind the famous high quality HEPU water pumps, has recently launched its range of Torsional Vibration Dampers, otherwise known as TVD pulleys. All TVD’s within the range are of original equipment quality and are now available from Autoparts Express.

TVD’s are crankshaft pulleys with a built in rubber shock absorber. Diesel engines, but also turbo charged petrol engines, can experience undesired vibrations. To reduce these vibrations, vehicle makers are increasingly using TVD pulleys. An elastic rubber-metal composite connects the belt drive with the crankshaft and reduces vibrations. TVD’s should be checked at 90,000 kms and should be replaced together with the belt.
