TecDoc believes it can offer a simple solution to the problem of parts identification with its web-based ID system for engine components, body parts and chassis products. The system utilises original equipment suppliers OE data, to provide the template for the catalogue which now features some 360 parts suppliers.

With TecDoc, users can identify the replacement part they require by using what is the easiest ID reference, the vehicle’s registration. When this is typed in, the user can see the exact vehicle spec and then select a specific product group. They can then select the particular component required and the system will display all of the part numbers of suppliers of that component, as well as the vehicle’s chassis number and engine code, dispensing with the need to search individual supplier catalogues.

Many major suppliers in the Irish market now utilise the TecDoc system. For example, Transport Component Distributors report that the system is providing genuine benefits and great time savings and has significantly reduced the problem of incorrect parts specification.

TecDoc is also available to garage users where the system can be enhanced to include technical data, repair manuals and repair times. There is now also a dedicated technical support line for Irish customers on 01-442-9625.
