NTK can help relieve the pressure
Share:

With the relentless drive to improve vehicles’ performance and economy while reducing emissions, the pressure is on garages to make sure cars that enter the workshop run more efficiently. This means optimum engine management performance and this in turn makes the right choice of parts essential.

The NTK brand from Niterra UK Ltd can help workshops achieve their goal with its portfolio of vehicle electronic products which meet or exceed vehicle manufacturer standards. This range is now even stronger with the addition of NTK Exhaust Pressure Sensors, comprising Differential, Absolute and High-pressure sensors for petrol and diesel models.

The sensors are required to provide the ECU with the necessary information regarding the exhaust gas pressures and the filling level of the diesel particulate filter. The high-pressure sensor measures the back pressure of the exhaust gases and the information is managed by the engine control unit to monitor and protect the turbocharger unit.

Exhaust pressure monitoring prevents damage due to excessive back pressure in the exhaust system which not only helps keep vehicles healthy but also keeps your customers happy.

NTK Exhaust Pressure Sensors cater for a wide range of applications and gives workshops a lucrative new revenue opportunity. The new range includes OE-quality equivalent products which have been tested under very strict standards to ensure you can fit them with confidence to your customers’ vehicles.

With 40-part numbers covering 38 vehicle manufacturers and 1200 application lines with petrol and diesel applications there’s an EPS to cater for most customers’ requirements and while a simple part numbering system helps ensure workshops can easily select the correct product. The comprehensive NTK range is also supported by Niterra’s experienced technical team.

Niterra says some of the symptoms to look out for in the case of EPS malfunctions are:
  • Unnecessary filter regenerations
  • Sensor does not detect the degree of saturation of the filter → Loss of performance
  • Particle filter indicator light comes on
  • Flashing of the control lamp for preheating
  • Shortening the Lifetime of the DPF due to Unnecessary Regenerations
  • Increased degree of contamination
EPS Possible causes of errors
  • Damage to pipes (fractures or cracks)
  • Wear in the connector or wiring
  • Damage to the sensor element → poor pressure readings
  • Leakage in the sensor
  • Wear on the connections between the sensor and the pipes
Exhaust Pressure Sensors are part of the NTK family that includes lambda, NOx, MAF/MAP, camshaft and crankshaft and EGT sensors and EGR valves.
