Wexford is due to stage its biggest ever motor show and the biggest in the country so far this year.  The show will feature 17 franchise dealers and 24 brands, as well as a large contingent from the Sports and Classic Car Club and will take place on Saturday, April 21, on the town's Quayfront, between Wexford bridge and Crescent Quay.

More than 110 new vehicles and 100 vintage and classic vehicles will be on view at the show which will run from 9 am to 6 pm.

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI), which is running the event in partnership with the Road Safety Authority, the car club and the borough council, says the Quayfront is perfectly suited to this type of event and it is expected that over 10,000 people will visit the show.

While the emphasis at the show will be on new and classic cars, there will be other attractions for families too.  The family entertainment area, centred on Cresecnt Quay, will include clowns, face painting and a climbing wall.

At the other end of the Quays, next to Wexford Bridge, the The Road Safety Authority will provide their Road show vehicle and a roll over simulator, as part of a road safety awareness campaign on the day. ' This show will have the biggest participation in the country this year, with 17 franchise dealers and 24 brands represented on the day.

'It's great to see the local dealers, who compete against each other every day, coming together to put a show on for the County Wexford,' said SIMI director Tom Cullen, himself a Wexford man.
