Post lockdown, 2020 proved to be a bumper year for battery sales and while in the autumn and winter of 2021 vehicle battery sales may not hit the same levels, it appears there is still plenty of pent up battery demand to make this battery season a potentially lucrative one for progressive garages. 

As ever Yuasa has put together a comprehensive support programme to assist both stockists and garages to make the most of potential battery sales. Stephen Lawless, Sales Manager at Yuasa’s distributor in Ireland, Somora Motor Parts, says it will be the proactive garages that make the most of what could be another very healthy battery season. He comments, “There are already signs that reduced vehicle usage earlier in the year has had an effect on the state of many vehicle batteries and it will only take a spell of cold weather to really kick start demand. Garages can get ahead of this by testing batteries now whenever a vehicle comes in for repair or service and highlighting any problems to customers.”
