Truck Shows are big business again in Ireland and the annual event held at Mondello Park takes place in September.

For the 2016 running of the Mondello Park Truck Show, it focusses on the family element primarily as a full 'Festival of Entertainment' programme is lined-up for 3 and 4 September next. Sponsored once again by Calor, in association with Mercury Fuel Systems, the annual two day gathering of all things trucks will take place at the famous Kildare circuit with plenty of activity both on and off the track.

This year, the organising team at Mondello Park is keen to expand and grow the Show both in the paddock and on track, building on an already impressive line-up that includes Truck Racing, Driving Competitions, Time-Attack, Trade Stands, and a huge display of Ireland’s finest trucks and fleets. Children of all ages love to see the vast number of gleaming vehicles with their vibrant colour schemes in the paddock and out on the circuit.

As for the truck owners and drivers, they take great pride in their vehicles and will have them primed to compete for prizes in the 19 Static Display, competition categories. First, second and third prize trophies will be awarded on this occasion, but many will be vying for the big prize – Top Truck 2016.
Title sponsors Calor Gas will conduct a series of demonstrations on the advantages of the Calor Gas LPG/Diesel Dual Fuel system as a viable alternative fuel for fleet operators, through its technology partner, Mercury Fuel Systems.

“In addition to being a great family day out, Mondello Truck Show is also an important commercial event for fleet operators and those involved in the trade with exhibitors from the commercial vehicle industry. We have also introduced a dedicated caravan, campervan and tent area on-site,” stated Roddy Greene, General Manager, Mondello Park.

Also new for 2016 is the third running of Ireland's Best Truck Driver Competition, hosted by Fleet Transport and sponsored by Enprova, which will be held at the Show for the first time. Ten finalists will test their skills against the clock with a series of challenging manoeuvers in a confined area around the paddock behind the wheel of a new Mercedes-Benz Actros 1545 tractor-unit coupled to a Dennison curtain-sider trailer.
