The Honda Civic Tourer 1.6 i-DTEC has once again proved its impressive fuel economy by claiming the 2015 Honest John Award for the Best Real MPG Performer.
The Best Real MPG Performer award is new for 2015 and demonstrates the rising trend among consumers for increased efficiency and fuel economy as a priority in the decision making process when buying a new car. The award is based on real world fuel consumption data submitted by thousands of drivers.
Dan Harrison, Editor at HonestJohn, commented: “When it comes to real world fuel economy, no other car comes close to the Honda Civic Tourer 1.6 i-DTEC. Practical and spacious, the estate version of the Civic is a winner when it comes to fuel efficiency, with the diesel surpassing all of its rivals. According to Real MPG submissions for the past 12 months, the Civic Tourer diesel achieves an impressive 93% of its official economy rating, with a real world average of 68mpg (4.1l/100km).”
Emmet Kavanagh, Marketing Manager at Universal Honda Ltd., commented: "Our 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine has been winning many awards for the real-world fuel efficiency which it offers. We are particularly pleased to win this award as it is based on real-world consumption feedback from drivers, showing exactly what they are getting from their cars and proving how fuel efficient our cars are for our customers. Itis a fantastic recognition of the capabilities and efficiency of both the Civic and the 1.6 litre diesel engine."
