Derek Tohill took a well earned third place in Touring Car final at the latest round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship  held in Nyirad, Hungary at the weekend.

The weekend started very well for Derek, setting fastest times in the first and second qualifying heats on Saturday and helping him to be on pole position for the final. In the 6-lap-final on Sunday, Derek had a first lap spin after being hit by another car. This meant he then had to battle his way back through the field and eventually crossed the finish line in third.

The podium finish leaves Derek well placed in the championship ahead of the next round at Kouvola in Finland on June 8-9.
