Ryans Automotive has announced that it is supporting a unique project that will see UCD students designing and building an electric race car to compete at Silverstone.

UCDFS, is UCD’s Formula Student team currently building a car to compete in the Formula Student Electric Competition. This is the world largest and most prestigious student engineering competition, which is organised by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. The competition attracts teams from all over the world who compete with a single seater Formula Style car on iconic motor racing circuits.

The UCD team’s aim is to put Irish student engineering back onto the international stage and show that electric racing truly is the future.

Ryans Automotive is sponsoring the team with the supply of electric vehicle safety equipment.
