Rathgar Motor Factors and Platinum Batteries have announced a sponsorship deal, which will see them supporting the exciting 2009 / 2010 Motorsport Ireland Rallycross Stock Hatch Championship. The series of races for hatchback cars kicked off at Pembrey in Wales in September, but will see meetings take place at Mondello over the winter months.

This well supported class attracts a broad range of drivers and cars and provides some of the most exciting motorsport of its kind. Rathgar Motor Factors distributes Platinum batteries in Ireland, as well as supplying a huge range of car parts and accessories. Rathgar Motor Factors manager Gary Murphy says, “We see many Stock Hatch drivers in our store before races so it’s nice to give something back to the drivers.  The cars are most relevant to our business, as they mainly use off the shelf standard items.  We have come up with a number of interesting awards to ensure there is a good spread of prizes between competitors. We want all drivers to have a good opportunity of winning something”.
