Vinny Byrne has kicked off its new series of training programmes with a successful course entitled, “An introduction to waterbased refinishing”, at its training school in Athlone.

The course was attended by a mix of people including relative beginners, looking to gain an insight into the painting process and more experienced refinishers, looking to improve their understanding of the latest paint technology. Throughout the day, those attending had the opportunity to pick up practical tips and expert knowledge and all attendees received a comprehensive course information pack and a certificate of completion.

Starting the programme, training manager Declan O’Reilly, presented an overview of the water based refinishing process, highlighting the quality, productivity and cost benefits it can offer. He then moved on to demonstrate the step-by-step process, using the training school’s preparation area, advanced mixing room and full sized training spraybooth, using the latest Palinal waterbased and compliant paint products.

Training Manager Declan O’Reilly said, “We have had an excellent response to our training programme.” He added, “We plan to run this introductory course again in the coming weeks and will shortly be adding more advanced courses, that will cover subjects such as advanced refinishing processes and new technology welding.”
