Murray hopes to be centre of city car development

Gordon Murray, the man who designed the iconic McLaren F1 sports car, has been working at the other end of the spectrum of car making more recently with his T.25 City Car design. The T.25, which is still very much in the development process, is expected to set new standards in personal urban transport, environmental friendliness, as well as a new concept in vehicle manufacturing.

However it will, it seems, also share something in common with the F1, a central driving position in a three-seat configuration. Called the iCentre, the seating configuration is the latest element of the T.25 to be revealed in a drip-by-drip publicity approach.

The designers say the car will be multifunctional with six different possible seat layouts, which will satisfy different needs for specific times. Murray is still in negotiations with possible production partners for the new vehicle.
