Irish Rugby star, Aoife Dalton, has been appointed an Opel brand ambassador at Main Opel Dealer, Tullamore Opel, and presented with a new Opel Corsa.

A proud sponsor of Irish Rugby and the official car partner to the IRFU, Opel Ireland warmly welcomes Aoife to her new ambassador role at the Main Opel Dealer.

James Brooks, Opel Ireland Managing Director said: “As official Car Partner to the IRFU, Opel continues to strengthen its commitment to both Men’s and Women’s rugby at club level and internationally. Indeed, Aoife’s ambassador appointment through our partners at Tullamore Opel is yet another demonstration of our unwavering support for the Women’s 7s and XVs teams.”

He continued: “Aoife’s rugby flair and sheer determination have seen her rise speedily to the very top of the game. I welcome her warmly to Team Opel and I wish her continued success in her rugby career and for the forthcoming Guinness Women’s Six Nations Championships campaign.”

Aoife, who hails from Clara, started playing rugby at Tullamore RFC when she was 15, straying somewhat from her family’s love of GAA; Aoife’s father, Tony, was a football star for Clara; her brother, Marcus, played for Offaly; Aoife’s mother’s family, the Morrisons, are heavily involved in GAA too.

The gifted centre, ever since her debut at Tullamore RFC, demonstrated a clear talent that propelled her swiftly from club, to provincial, to international rankings. Aoife made her senior debut for Leinster in 2022 and in the space of just five months, she was called up to the elite senior level in the national XVs women’s team. Crowned Leinster Women’s Young Player of the Year 2023, Aoife was also shortlisted for the 2023 Guinness Rugby Writers’ Player of the Year. Today, Aoife plays for Old Belvedere RFC, Leinster, and further boasts 10 caps for Ireland. She has been named in the Ireland Guinness Women’s Six Nations 2024 squad.

Speaking at the presentation of her new Opel Corsa, at Gowan Auto in Citywest, Dublin, Aoife said: “I am delighted to be given this opportunity to be an Opel ambassador and I am thrilled with my new Opel Corsa. Huge thanks to John Malone, Sales Manager at Tullamore Opel for his support. I am so looking forward to working with Team Opel in my new role.”

Aoife joins her Guinness Six Nations teammates, Linda Djougang and Beibhinn Parsons, together with her 7s rugby comrades, Amee Leigh Murphy Crowe and Stacey Flood, as an Opel brand ambassador.
