Parts specialist febi has announced the introduction of many new to range items, which as ever feature fast to market aftermarket components, as well as items that offer a high quality, economical alternative to dealer sourced parts.

One of the highlights of the new introductions are in-demand control arm bushes for several VW group electric vehicles. These control arms are febi part numbers 184988 and 184989, which fit: Audi Q4 2021 on / CUPRA Born 2021 on / Skoda Enyaq 2020 on / VW ID.3 2019 on, ID.4 2020 on, and ID.5 2021 on.

These rubber-to-metal parts are used as elastic joints between chassis and body, especially in multi-link axle designs. They absorb the vibrations generated by the road surface and drive units while the vehicle is in motion thus making a significant contribution to increasing driving comfort and noise insulation. In addition, they ensure driving safety by improving steering behaviour and driving stability on uneven road surfaces as well as braking and avoidance manoeuvres.

The weight of EVs, combined with poor road conditions can see these components wear prematurely.

In the rubber-to-metal sector, febi offers one of the widest ranges in the Independent Aftermarket, all in OE matching quality. This also includes bearings for control arms, which febi also offers as liquid-filled hydraulic bush.

Another useful addition to the febi range, and part of the febiPLUS line-up, is febi 184615, an Inner Door Handle for the BMW X5 2006 to 2013 and X6 2008 to 2014.

A worn, dirty, or indeed broken door handle will seriously detract from the interior presentation of these cars. Made from a porous material, over time the original door handles will absorb oil and grime from occupant’s hands, leaving the surface sticky and unsightly.  Typically, this porous material isn’t easy to clean, and in the event of accidental breakage, replacing the handle itself can be difficult and costly.

Available in black and beige, febiPLUS replacement Interior Door Handles are made to OE-matching quality for both strength and feel. Other aftermarket alternatives do not feature the metal sleeves for the attachment screws and have fewer and thinner strengthening ribs, two elements that compromise the structural integrity of the handle.

febi says, this is a good example of a part that garages may not think is available in the independent aftermarket. However, with over 2,100 articles in range, instead of going straight to the manufacturer or dealer, it makes sense to check out febiPLUS first.

Details of all febi parts can be found in the partsfinder online catalogue.
