In the final round of the Valvoline National Forestry Championship, Desi Henry and Damien Connolly took a 13 seconds win on the Trailer Parts and Spares, Enniskillen Lakeland Stages Rally.

Taking the lead after the second stage in a Ford Fiesta they stayed in front to the finish after a royal battle with former champion Sam Moffett, co-driven by James Fulton who finished in runner up position in another Fiesta. Moffett’s challenge faded during the final loop when some intercooler pipes disconnected after a heavy landing over a jump. He dropped precious seconds to his rival on the stage and although he was able to fix the problem, he had to settle for second.

Recently crowned Forestry champions Cathan McCourt and Barry McNulty were close behind in third spot.

In the two-wheel drive category, David Condell and Paul Kelly nabbed the victory despite some early drama that saw them stall during stage two. They dropped around 10 seconds but kept their heads cool to eventually claim the category win by 28 seconds from John Gordon and Thomas Wedlock.
