Colm Quinn BMW, Athlone collected two awards at the SIMI Irish Motor Industry Awards.


The young company came away with the Franchised Retail Operation of the Year for an entry that demonstrates a consistent commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs, combined with a painstaking focus on effective management of every facet of the business.

Colm Quinn BMW also won the Franchised Dealership of the Year for an entry that demonstrates strong, dealership-wide sales and service performance, through effective use of technology by an experienced team highly attuned to its customer base within a framework of prudent, detail-oriented management.


Top businesses from the Irish Motor Industry were celebrated at the 2013 SIMI Irish Motor Industry Awards in partnership with Castrolwhich took place at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin. Six awards were presented by veteran sports commentator, Des Cahill.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Alan Nolan, Director General, SIMI congratulated the award winners, “The winners have proven to the whole industry that it is possible for a business to excel in our sector, even when faced with seemingly insurmountable economic conditions. These awards recognise the best-performing automotive companies from across Ireland, and all of the winners can be proud of what they have achieved over the last 12 months."

Now in it’s 3rd year, the awards recognise best practice exhibited by franchised and independent dealer members of the SIMI. Celebrating the positive approach displayed by the industry in spite of unforgiving trading conditions, the awards recognise those businesses who have most successfully confronted the toughest circumstances the sector has seen in a generation.
