Blue Print expands gas strut range

Blue Print has announced that it has expanded its gas strut range to over 165 references which cover 550 popular applications. The original range was introduced in 2011 as a result of feedback from customers regarding high failure applications and continued customer feedback has played a key role in the latest range extensions.

Gas struts are used for boot lids, glass openings and some vehicle’s bonnets. They are among some of the most highly stressed components on a vehicle and often experience daily, repetitive use. Over time they lose their effectiveness, meaning they are not able to hold the boot or bonnet fully open, finally resulting in total failure.

Blue Print recommends that technicians check the struts on every vehicle at every service and if they are not working effectively replace them in pairs. These struts are easy to fit and represent a significant additional revenue opportunity for a garage.

Some of the key references added are:
  • Mazda 121 1996>2000, Ford Fiesta 1996>2002 – ADM55804
  • Nissan Micra K101193>2002 – ADN15806
  • Toyota Yaris 2005>2011 – ADT35803
