Spies Hecker has produced a 2014 calendar that displays a real passion for automotive classics. The new calendar focuses on classic cars, but the unique thing about each shot is that it is taken at a Spies Hecker customer site.
Numerous bodyshops all over Europe sent in pictures of their masterpieces and the Spies Hecker team spent weeks touring different countries in order to create stylish settings for the vehicles and to capture them on camera. “This calendar shows genuine and lovingly restored classic vehicles,” said Daniel Hartland, Spies Hecker Brand Marketing Coordinator. “Each year, our calendar demonstrates just how versatile our trade is.”
Classics on display include, in January a matt black Chevy hot rod, from 1950, in March, a 1961 red-and-white Opel Rekord Olympia and in September, a blue-and-white Wartburg 311/1000 built in 1963. These are just three of the 12 high-impact images in the calendar titled “Passion 2014”.
Dietmar Wegener, Colour Specialist at Spies Hecker, explains, “Classic cars in particular need meticulous substrate preparation if high corrosion protection and a dazzling finish are to be achieved. By using the ColorDialog spectro for electronic colour measurement, our customers measured the original colours and found the matching formula for each classic car in the CRplus colour software.”
With the 2014 calendar now produced, preparation is already underway for the 2015 edition. Bodyshops are asked to send in their submissions by 22 February 2014. Entries can be emailed to contact-sh-gb@gbr.spieshecker.com
