The adrenalin-charged Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 3-5) was the appropriate stage for

Richard Noble’s team to reveal a dramatic full-scale model of Bloodhound SCC which, next year, begins it’s mission to establish the 1,000mph World Land Speed Record for the British team.

Enthusiast’s flocked in their droves to the STP-hosted Bloodhound SCC centre stage display, in co-operation with Goodwood, to catch a glimpse of the mighty model and mingle with key team members. These included Team Leader, Richard Noble, Engineering Director John Piper and Andy Green, who hopes to extend his existing World Land Speed Record by a staggering margin of 41% when he pilots Bloodhound SCC in the run for the ultimate 1,000mph record in 2011.

No stranger to record-breaking, STP – the world’s leading fuel additives brand that gained
it’s fame in the ultimate speed arena of Bonneville, USA fifty years ago, latterly claiming the
World Land Speed Record with Art Arfons at 576mph in 1965. Whilst land speed record technology has moved on apace since Arfons triumph, BLOODHOUND SCC will use regular
STP fuel additives during the record bids, the same as those available in all leading stores and forecourts across Ireland to aid optimum engine efficiency.
